Photo-A-Day: Day 9

Day 9: Favorite

I have had the song “These are a few of my favorite things” from the Sound of Music stuck in my head all. day. long. Which is great, but oh my goodness it was hard to decide on which of my favorite things to focus on for today’s prompt!

Luckily, one of the errands on my to-do list today was to swing by the liquor store to re-stock our wine rack. Ugh, ohh okay. If I must. HA!

So once I got home and was stocking these bottles into the wine rack, it hit me. Picture time!

Curious which wines I went for? First I must tell you that I am a Freakonomics podcast-addict. Why am I telling you this? Because a few months ago they did a podcast about a research study on high-end wines and how even the taste buds of “wine experts” couldn’t tell the difference between expensive and cheap wines, and many of these “wine experts” preferred the cheap wines when in a blind taste testing. Great news, huh?!

That being said, I will now tell you the wines I am currently giddy over. Some are my old-faithfuls and others are new to my kitchen. But the most important thing, is I am confident that these $8-$15 bottles of wine are far tastier than any $150 dollar bottle of wine… even the experts say so! ; )

Here’s what my wine rack looks like right now:

ApothicRed – Red Blend

Ménage à Trois – Cabernet Sauvignon

Primal Roots – Red Blend

Cupcake – Shiraz

Cupcake – Angel Food

Yellow Tail – Chardonnay

Yellow Tail – Pinot Noir

Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel

Barefoot Shiraz
